Bigfoot Adventure sits on Baggenstoss Farms just outside Tracy City, 2,000 feet up on the South Cumberland Plateau, the mountain I-24 climbs between Nashville and Chattanooga. Most people know it as Monteagle. The Baggenstoss family has known it as home for a lot longer than that.

In the 1860s and 70s, Swiss families crossed an ocean and half a continent to settle this plateau, clearing farms in the hardwoods and founding the colony that became Gruetli-Laager. The Baggenstosses were one of the first twelve families. They farmed, they stayed, and the land they worked is the land you camp on. Around them, coal and timber built Tracy City, the Mountain Goat Railroad hauled it down the mountain, and the coke ovens at Grundy Lakes lit the sky. Those stories are still in the hills; the Grundy County Heritage Center and the Stoker-Stampfli Farm are a few minutes from your site.

Today the farm carries that spirit forward: 500 acres of trail, a waterfall, fishing ponds, a nine-hole disc golf course, OHV trails, and an eight-line zipline over the treetops.
